Are owner/operators eligible for Program Rewards (SPIFs)?

Yes. CA pays program rewards to owner/operators as long as this practice does not conflict with their corporate policy.

How long will the Rewards Program be in effect?

At this time, there is not expiration for the Rewards Program. CA reserves its right to alter or eliminate the program at any time.

Are renewals on existing CA software products eligible Program Rewards?

No, program rewards are only eligible on new sales.

Who pays the Program Rewards?

CA pays registered technicians through Parago, Inc. (CA's preferred vendor) via a prepaid Visa® card.

How much money can I make?

The cash reward on each unit of software starts at $5 and runs as high as $150 per unit. There is no limit on how much money you can earn.

Are Program Rewards considered taxable income?

Yes, all program rewards are paid in compliance with and reported to the applicable tax reporting agency for each registered member.

Why am I being asked for my Social Security Number (U.S. residents) or my Social Insurance number (Canadian residents)?

In order to earn rewards in the program, you must provide your U.S. Social Security number or your Canadian Social Insurance number. The sole purpose of your Social Security/Social Insurance number is for year-end tax purposes. All rewards earned in the Onsite PC Protection Program are considered taxable income. Your Social Security/Social Insurance number is collected and stored in a secure environment, by Parago, Inc., on behalf of CA. It will never be displayed or used in program communications. At year-end, if you're a U.S. resident and have received more than $600.00 in rewards, you will be issued a 1099 from Parago, Inc. on behalf of CA. At year-end, if you are a Canadian resident and have earned more than $500 in rewards, you will be issued a T4A from Parago, Inc. on behalf of CA.

All rewards will be issued in US dollars. All conversions from United States dollars to Canadian dollars for the purposes of determining whether or not a Canadian resident has reached the $500 (Canadian) limit will be in accordance with Canadian tax law.

How is the income tax reporting handled on Program Rewards?

CA's preferred vendor, Parago, Inc., will issue a 1099 form in accordance with IRS rules and regulations to registered technicians in the United States. For our Canadian technicians, Parago, Inc. complies with Canadian income tax reporting laws.

I am a Canadian resident, are my Program Rewards paid in U.S. or Canadian dollars?

Program rewards are paid in U.S. currency to all Canadian residents. Your personal pre-paid Visa card balance will always be represented U.S. currency.
